VISION

Changing the Way the World Thinks About High Quality Forest Restoration and Conservation

MISSION

Restoring and Protecting the Peruvian Amazon

WHO ARE WE

We are a Nature Based Solutions Project Developer and Implementor with Key Partnerships in the Amazon

HOW WE DO IT

DEFORESTATION IS AN    ECONOMIC ISSUE

60% of the Peruvian territory is composed of the Amazon and economic value to such ecosystems is limited to a few areas and specific legal activites. Whether its gold mining, cattle grazing, logging, agriculture, palm oil...the rule of thumb is that people illegaly slash and burn forests to develop an economic activity and continue to expand it through more deforestation to improve yields with low investment. The carbon market presents an opportunity to provide an economic alternative to restore and conserve nature, and it is only possible when profits exceed the current opportunity cost of deforesting activites.

PRESERVING THE AMAZON REQUIRES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR LOCAL PEOPLE

On top of requiring accurate carbon projections, standard and regulatory compliance, an experienced on the ground implementor, a strong business case for the investor and developer, amongst others, high quality projects must ensure sustainability by providing an attractive income for local people.

We map out current economic activities on the ground with detailed financials. This opportunity cost is addressed with a mix of fixed plus variable income that improves local peoples' quality of life.

FIXED PAYMENTS FROM THE START

People rely on a monthly payment that matches their current opportunity cost

70% OF SALARIES TO LOCAL PEOPLE

Restoration projects are labour intensive for the first 5 years of planting, dropping a bit later on with maintenance

UPSIDE THROUGH CREDIT SHARE

Carbon credits prices are expected to rise. Local people should receive the highest feasible amount

HUAYRURO RESTORATION LAB

A different approach, using a new method of restoration

In an initial 11 hectare plot startin on November 2022, we are testing 11  essays that combine native trees, agroforestry and bamboo across low, medium and high technological packages, and ranging planting densities across 400 to 1428 saplings per hectare

OUR LAB IS OPTIMIZING FOR CARBON SEQUESTRATION AND BIODIVERSITY AT THE LOWEST COST

Funds partially secured by One Tree Planted to develop 100 hectares in Pucallpa, of which 50 hectares are in the process of being installed and our initial 11 hecatres were co-financed by Earthshot Labs

700 hectares secured by our partners Huayruro and TLA, with 100 hectares contracted to expand our lab

Partnership with top service forestry provider Reforesta Peru S.A.C. With a team of 40 collaborators based in Pucallpa, the organization has won awards in Peru for its ability to design and execute agroforestry projects with small agroforestry producers of coffee, cocoa, and silvopasture systems

In search of matching funds for planting and maintenance on Huayruro's pilot area, to later scale the solution to 3000+ hectares on smallholder farmers land and degraded areas on native communities, with a proven method and data
